Biking adventures at Minnesota lake resorts
The paved bicycle trail in Croft Mine Park has continued to receive rave reviews since its 2006 debut for its rolling terrain and beautiful vistas. The bike trails span 5.3 miles from Crosby to Riverton. Continued development of the paved trail include linkage to the new Cuyuna Lakes Trail. The second phase will extend from east Brainerd at Lum Park through the rugged Cuyuna area of Crosby-Ironton and eventually all the way to Aitkin.
Cuyuna State Recreation Area offers the finest mountain biking within the Midwest. The area is currently open to off and on road biking throughout the 5,000 acre state recreation area. Over the next few years, the planned development of 40 miles offers different levels of challenge - beginner, intermediate, and expert -- as well as the potential to host mountain biking events.
