
As representatives of Ruttger's, our most important responsibilities are to serve our guests with courtesy and consideration and to provide or arrange for any assistance they request. The following descriptions give more specific requirements for each seasonal position at our Minnesota Lake Resort. Part of the service crew for a busy dining room; serves guests graciously and professionally according to Standard American Table Service; helps with cleaning, restocking and other tasks as needed; responsible for cash and charge transactions; schedule includes a variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts, split shifts, and special functions; must be 18 or older.
Part of the reception staff; provides check-in, check-out and cashier services using a computerized front office system; answers questions and assists guests as needed; completes daily reports; helps with telephone switchboard, dining reservations and other functions; cleans and maintains facilities and equipment; helps with other tasks as needed; schedule includes a variety of shifts.
Conference-Services Crew Member
Part of the conference center staff; sets rooms and various audio/visual equipment for meetings, banquets, and other special functions; serves coffee breaks; helps clean and maintain meeting / banquet room areas, corridors, storage, pool and service areas; drives shuttle vans; uses computer; helps other departments when needed; schedule includes varied shifts. Must be 18 or older.
Part of the sanitation crew in the main kitchen; takes turns at ware washing, clearing and stacking dishes, operating dish machine, stacking and storing clean dishes; cleans kitchen floors, walls, exhaust system, drain systems, and other areas; helps with stocking, delivery, trash removal and other tasks as needed; schedule includes a variety of shifts.
Serves guests graciously and professionally in either Ruttger's Country Store, Auntie M's Kaffeehaus, or the Lobby Shop; responsible for cash and charge transactions; helps in stocking, inventory, and other tasks as needed; cleans and maintains merchandise, facilities, and equipment. Schedule includes a variety of shifts.
Cleans guest rooms; performs general cleaning which includes baths, kitchens, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, changing beds, etc.; helps with other tasks as needed; schedule includes day shifts of varying lengths.
Work includes most types of general maintenance, such as: minor plumbing, carpentry, electrical and general repair; assists with other duties as assigned; schedule may include weekends or evenings.
Responsible for cash and charge transactions as retail clerk; takes tee-times; rents, issues and checks-in pull carts and power carts; rents golf clubs and other equipment; maintains storage area and cleans guests' equipment; patrols course as ranger; serves as starter; helps with other tasks as needed; schedule includes a variety of shifts.
Duties include escortin g guests to their table, presenting t he menu, and briefly describing the buffet and dining room menu.
Part of a crew that is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the golf-course grounds. These duties include the use of various types of lawnmowers, string trimmers, and other landscape-type equipment.
Part of the beverage staff which operates the main bar, dining room wine and cocktail service, special bars for resort and private functions, and beverage service at golf course, beach, pool areas and other locations; serves guests graciously, professionally, and responsibly; responsible for control of liquor cost through proper pouring and measuring techniques; responsible for cash and charge transactions; mixes and serves products according to recipes and procedures established by Ruttger's; maintains standards for cleaning, set-up, tear-down and stocking; schedule includes straight and split shifts; must be 18 or older.
Part of the production team for a busy, fine-dining restaurant; works in various positions including bakery, pantry, prep and hot food stations; maintains a clean, safe and professional work environment; helps with other tasks as needed; schedule includes a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner shifts, as well as special functions.
Part of the food service team; sets and clears tables in dining and banquet rooms; restocks supplies; helps with clean-up and other duties as assigned by the supervisor-on-duty; schedule includes a variety of shifts.
Assists landscape technicians with landscaping work, mowing, trimming, general cleaning of grounds and patios; removes garbage; cuts firewood; keeps lawn furniture in order; moves furniture in guest rooms as needed; various other tasks as needed; schedule includes a variety of shifts.
Kids' Kamp Counselor/Resort Activities Staff
Part of a group of counselors who supervise children's activities from ages 4-12; maintains a safe, fun environment; responsible for all children registered in the program; provides enjoyable and educational activities and programs such as nature hikes, fishing trips, games, picnics, crafts and movies; plans, coordinates and supervises resort activities for guests of all ages; drives pontoon boats. Water safety instructor, musical ability or working toward an elementary education degree is helpful. Schedule includes a variety of split shifts. Must be 16 years of age or older.
Rents boats, fishing and skiing equipment; cleans and cares for beach, pools, docks, boats and work areas; drives ski boats, pontoon boats and other craft; instructs renters on wind surfing and sailing; holds skiing seminars; completes various other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Part of the production team responsible for preparing breads, rolls, quick breads, muffins and other similar bakery items. Also prepares pies, cakes, cookies, and other baked desserts. Schedule includes a variety of shifts.
Part of the production team responsible for all cold food items prepared in the kitchen. Portions and prepares such cold food items as salads, cold appetizers, desserts, sandwiches, salad dressings, and cold banquet platters. Schedule includes a variety of shifts.
